In the context of the revision of the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive, 15 organisations, including industriAll Europe, that, 10 years, signed the Social Dialogue "Agreement on Workers' Health Protection Through the Good Handling and Use of Crystalline Silica and Products Containing it" and formed NEPSI, the European Network on Silica, issued a declaration highlighting the importance of NEPSI to implement effective protection measures through good practices, and to closely monitor the application of the Agreement over the years. As stated by European Commissioner, Marianne Thyssen: “NEPSI has helped to increase the knowledge of the health effects of Respirable Crystalline Silica dust. Crucially, it has and still is complementing European legislation in the field of worker protection”.
